ChatGPT Space and Pages: what teams can use today

ChatGPT Space turns chats into Pages your team can edit. See which plans include collaboration, how Team Tasks run and why recurring updates need a saved task.

ChatGPT Space replaces Library, and Pages lets you turn a chat answer into a document your team can edit together. That answer now has an address, collaborators and comments, instead of disappearing into someone's chat history. OpenAI's Space administration guide

Announced at DevDay on 29 September 2026, the package also includes Team Tasks and @ChatGPT in Slack and Microsoft Teams. Collaborative slides are still coming. As of 30 September, the useful test is simple: can your team review the work where it was created?

What belongs in ChatGPT Space

OpenAI has given you a workspace, Space and spaces. Your ChatGPT workspace is the personal or organization environment you sign into; Space holds the Pages, files and shared work you can access there. A space within it groups related Pages around a team or subject, such as a launch room with an overview, research and a communications plan. ChatGPT Space guide

You can also create a standalone Page. Use one document for a small decision, or a shared space for a project with several documents. Let the work dictate the container.

Space brings together spreadsheets, presentations, Sites and images too, and connected apps can supply source material. Its job goes beyond storing attachments. But a sidebar full of outputs still needs someone to decide which Page holds the current plan, who owns it and which sources count as evidence.

Turn a conversation into a Page people can review

A Page is a document you can edit directly or with ChatGPT. The official guide describes blocks for headings, text, tables, images and files, plus subpages and references to existing material. A slash menu adds content. Working with Pages

Select a passage to ask for a revision, or mention ChatGPT in a comment. Teammates with editing access can write together in real time.

Start with a project brief that already exists in a conversation:

Create a Page from that conversation.
Put the decision, owner and supporting links near the top.
Invite the colleagues who need to contribute.
Ask for one bounded revision, such as clarifying an unresolved launch date.
Read the changed text before treating it as the agreed plan.

That's a suggested working method. The payoff is keeping the answer and its review in the same place, so colleagues can inspect the text they're being asked to agree on.

dots can work in Space too. The agent guide describes inline mentions and comments addressed to a dot. Access to the agent and connected tools still depends on the account, so having Space doesn't give every teammate the same agent access.

A cadence in a Page does not schedule an update

Launch coverage describes Pages that update themselves from connected tools. The current agent guide draws a sharper line: Keep Updated is unavailable at launch. Recurring work needs a task set up in chat with a saved schedule; writing a cadence into a Page doesn't schedule anything. Agents in Space

If someone shows you a supposedly self-updating document, ask to see the saved task, its timing and whether it's enabled. Then inspect a completed run and the actual Page change. That's a better test than reading the instruction and assuming it worked.

A weekly launch brief, for example, could ask ChatGPT to gather approved project sources and revise the status section. Tell it what to preserve too. Otherwise, an update might turn an uncertain date into an apparently settled promise.

I'd keep source links and unresolved questions visible. A fresher paragraph earns its place when readers can tell why it changed.

Which plans get editing, tasks and slides

The launch splits personal collaboration from organization features:

Team Tasks use the team's account

Team Tasks can run on a schedule or in response to an event. The administrative guide gives examples such as a weekly customer update or a summary following a launch-channel message. Tasks run in the cloud using the team's service account and configured connections. Team Tasks guide

This goes beyond a personal reminder. The connected account determines which outside information and actions are available, and it may have access an individual member doesn't.

Tasks don't inherit the creator's personal memories, custom instructions or chat history. Put the sources and expectations in the task itself. New team members can see earlier runs and generated files, so think about membership when deciding who should see the output.

Before you rely on an automated report, agree on an owner, a destination and a definition of success. A report can run punctually and still miss the same blocker every week.

@ChatGPT in Slack and Teams has its own access

Slack and Teams users can ask @ChatGPT for help in supported conversations. Launch coverage says participants don't need an individual ChatGPT licence to collaborate with the organization's deployment. TNW launch coverage

Read the setup guide before focusing on the mention syntax. Admins choose the deployment's tools and connections. @ChatGPT doesn't automatically inherit the requesting person's private-channel, file or app access, and shared replies are visible to conversation participants. For a pilot, use one project conversation with clear source access and ask the group to correct the resulting summary in place. You can test the collaboration benefit while keeping track of which account is doing the work.

ChatGPT Space vs Notion and Google Docs: test the handoff

AI editing already exists elsewhere. Notion's help page describes draft generation, section revisions and AI blocks you can refresh. Google Docs supports suggestions an owner can accept or reject. Notion AI help, Google Docs suggestions

Treat those as buying questions. We haven't established complete feature parity or run a migration test.

Notion is also a Sign in with ChatGPT partner. OpenAI is building a document surface while letting supported tools use eligible ChatGPT plan capacity. In a launch discussion, Reddit user AlmostEasy89 said Pages interested them because they use AI for business operations and already connect planning documents to agent work. That reaction reflects one user's priorities; it isn't adoption data. Their comment

Try Space when your team already produces useful work in ChatGPT, then loses time moving it somewhere colleagues can review it. Test that repeated handoff first. Moving a whole knowledge base is a much larger decision.
